Product Description

The Enigma 8 Standard Data Logger system helps water utility crews and leak detection professionals locate leaks in underground water pipes through acoustic correlation. Each of the eight loggers uses an integral accelerometer to detect vibrations created by escaping water at pipe contact points. After retrieval, the recorded data is transferred to the host software, which analyzes logger pairs and calculates possible leak locations. With three loggers deployed, the system can provide up to three correlations in a single survey run, allowing crews to inspect several pipe sections from one deployment.

Designed for overnight monitoring, Enigma 8 records during up to three 60-second sample periods, when background noise and water usage are typically lower. Comparing correlation results across each sample helps distinguish continuous leak noise from temporary water consumption. The loggers feature integral magnetic attachment, IP68 submersible protection, more than five years of operating time under standard programming, and a rugged IP65 communications case for field transport and data transfer.
